Little Jim (Translation)

Good heavens.. it looks a sight ( Seet )
Down that shuttle street.
Chances of getting it clean is rather slim.
With only one sweeper … little jim.

It's funny it's not made him bitter.
How folk keep throwing down their litter.
But he keeps going from year to year.
Mind you .. that’s what they pay him for.

Walking down in the morning, after Sunday night.
You want to see all the paper.
Does'nt half look a sight.
Especially if it's windy, making it look worse.

But jimmy never bothers.
You never hear him curse.
He carries on from day to day.
With his spade and little brush.

Going along at an even pace.
And never in a rush.
It's morning Mary.. how you doing Bob.
And then he gets his head down.
And carries on with the job..
