Follow the Roman’s road to Salvation

The Apostle Paul stated:
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth …

The Gospel is the good news that salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The question is then, what must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:30b “Sirs, what must I do to be saved”?
Act 16:31  And they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house”.

Mar 1:14  Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Mar 1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

To be saved, we need to repent, (to turn away from our sin).
We are all sinners, we have all fallen short of God’s standard.
We are all sinners and separated from God by our sin.

Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one…”

No one can claim to be without sin.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

We must acknowledge our sin.

There is a consequence of sin.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
It was whilst we were sinners that Christ died for us.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Romans 5:8-9 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him”

If we confess our sin, God will forgive our sin.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We can be made righteous in God’s sight through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:22-26 “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:

Romans 8:1 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

We must confess that Jesus is the Christ.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Me”.

Our Father who is in Heaven.
I accept that I have sinned against you and others.
I repent of all my sin and ask You to forgive me.
I believe that You sent Your Son Jesus Christ to die on a cross to pay the price of my sin.
I turn to Jesus and receive Him as my Saviour and my Lord.
Change me by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I pray this prayer in Jesus name. Amen
